ABOUT THIS EXHIBIT
The Portland Switching District Project: Preview is an abbreviated exhibit of photographs from the series on display at the offices of the Portland City Club in Spring, 2011. The photographs selected for this showing are from the Central Eastside Industrial District of the city, an area that may soon experience rapid change following the anticipated opening of the Portland Streetcar extension in 2012.

This preview is meant to raise awareness about the project, and to help raise funds to cover the expenses of creating a larger public display in the CEID coinciding with the streetcar extension opening. For more information, please see the 2010 Planned Exhibits page.

DIRECTIONS
The offices of the City Club are located in the southeast corner of the Pittock Block, at SW 9th Avenue and SW Washington Street. Enter through the main door of the Cafe Voila, turn immediately left, and go through the door into the reception area.

Those driving can find parking on-street, or there is a large garage at 10th & Yamhill. From transit, the nearest MAX stops are Galleria/SW 10th (red and blue lines) or 5th or 6th & Pine (yellow and green lines). There is a northbound streetcar stop at 10th & Stark, on the other side of the Pittock Block, and a southbound stop nearby at 11th & Alder.
